Hand Drawn Font Design

This was a typography design of my own name and surname. To do this I first drew the design out by hand making use of a technique where one draws a shape and then writes words inside that shape, extending the anatomy of the letters to fit the shape. This helps create new and interesting font designs in a easy way, and can be tweaked further by adding another shape or more to overlap each other then writing the text along edges of the shapes or within their particular boundaries. Below is a visual process of what I did to achieve my own design through this technique. After experimenting with different shapes I decided on a design which I then redrew until it filled the shape completely, was spaced correctly and flowed as naturally as possible. Finally I scanned my last draft and filled in the text giving it a solid black color in Photoshop.
