In this task we were asked to apply good working knowledge of lighting equipment and external flashes and create an inspired image using a model. Then we had to recognise the function and application of working with external flashes and its use for creative brand communicators and how it is practiced in the creative industry.
The scene I planned to portray for this image was a black environment with a Coke can and a Fanta can in the scene. I wanted to depict how Coke is more famous than Fanta and how there is a greater desire or stigma over Coke than Fanta. I did this with the use of lighting equipment provided by Vega. I induced a spotlight effect on the Coke leaving the Fanta fading into the darkness. The shot was taken at eye level with a gap in the middle of the cans and each can at the edge of the left and right side of the camera frame. This helped create a more dramatic scene capturing the light at a sharper angle creating a more defined shape. It also casts a perfect shadow over the Coke and a shadow to the right of the Fanta emphasising how distant it is compared to Cokes fame.
