In this brief we were asked to explore a number of illustrative techniques and assess the styles, intended meanings and mediums used. Then to compare a range of illustrative and art direction principles and apply the most relevant techniques to serve the purpose and context of Illustration.

As my illustration I created a dance scene happening inside a fridge with humanoid liquid figures from a half sliced orange dancing while at the same time listening to the orange which is a giant speaker. There is also a giant turn up as the DJ. I used different shades of colour to display depth, difference in limb or surface and shading. I also used it to tell my narrative by making the people dancing orange like the giant orange, insinuating they are liquid which has come out from within it to dance. Colour was also used to create further elements like the mist floating through the people. I mainly used the pen tool, paint bucket tool and learnt a technique where I expand and use the shape builder tool to create section out of my illustration which allows me to more accurately and professionally portray my image.

A link to the complete version on my portfolio website will be available soon. This is my process
